June 14, 2007. Today we learned more about AJAX and got into detail of what our first project was. This project gives much thought. I am still working on my first assignment of defining different software designs. As I put this entry in June 16 at 2:21 AM I am thinking of bandwidth and AJAX and how to start the project. Somebody in my group sent an email and mentioned Shannons law of which I have to do more research on. It is a theory about signal to noise ratio and bandwidth. but this is not in detail of this in class.

The Shannon-Hartley theorem deals with desribing the amount of error-free data that can be sent over a communication channel given a noise rate and an average signal strength. This is a low-level (level one) measure of the literal bandwidth of an analog communication channel.
I’m pretty sure that we won’t need to bring these kinds of electrical engineering concerns into our project assignment. I believe that the pupose conceptual framework we are building is to model the differing usage of “bandwidth” between AJAX and a standard web page, rather than to calculate capacity at the bit level.
